Africom steps up secret operations in Horn of Africa

The Pentagon’s secretive drone and commando base in the Horn of Africa is getting a lot bigger and a lot busier as the U.S. doubles down on its shadowy campaign of air strikes, robot surveillance and Special Operation Forces raids in the terror havens of Yemen and Somalia.

Camp Lemonnier, originally a French colonial outpost in Djibouti, a tiny, impoverished nation just north of Somalia, has been the epicenter of America’s Indian Ocean shadow war since just after 9/11. What was once little more than a run-down compound adjacent to Djibouti city’s single-runway international airport is now a sprawling complex of hangars and air-conditioned buildings housing eight Predator drones and eight F-15E fighter-bombers plus other warplanes, as well as around 300 Special Operations Forces and more than 2,000 other U.S. troops and civilians.

According to an investigation by The Washington Post, the Pentagon is spending $1.4 billion to expand the base’s airplane parking and living facilities. The extra housing could accommodate another 800 commandos, the Post reports. The military is also adding new lighting to a emergency landing strip a few miles from Camp Lemonnier — an urgent precaution as more and more planes and drones pack onto the main base’s sole runway.

The Djibouti base is just one of a constellation of hush-hush U.S. drone, commando or intelligence facilities in East Africa. Others are located in Ethiopia, Kenya, Somalia and the island nation of the Seychelles. But “those operations pale in comparison to what is unfolding in Djibouti,” the Post’s Craig Whitlock notes.

As previously reported by Danger Room, the scale and intensity of covert U.S. operations in Djibouti has increased steadily since 2001. Navy SEALs, Army Delta Force commandos and other Special Operations Forces stage from Djibouti on surveillance infiltrations, counter-terrorism raids, hostage rescues and pirate take-downs. And those are just the operations we know about.

The CIA’s armed Predator drones operated from Camp Lemonnier as early as 2002. In November of that year, an Agency Predator crew, following tips from the NSA, tracked al-Qaida operative Qaed Salim Sinan Al Harethi, one of the men who had organized the October 2000 attack on the U.S. Navy destroyer Cole, to a car in Yemen. The drone launched a single Hellfire missile, killing Al Harethi and several other men.

Drones came and went at Camp Lemonnier on a temporary basis between 2002 and 2010, joining a little-mentioned force of F-15 fighter-bombers deployed to the desert base for high-speed bombing runs over Yemen. In 2007 a Predator apparently flying from Djibouti struck a convoy near the southern Somali town of Ras Kamboni, killing Aden Hashi Farah, one of Somalia’s top al-Qaida operatives.

In 2010, the Pentagon made the drone presence at Lemonnier full-time, with eight Predators permanently assigned. In September last year, a Djibouti-based Predator took out Anwar Al Awlaki, an American-born cleric and top al-Qaida member.

Bereket Simon denouncing ethnic cleansing committed by himself

Described as the late fuehrer Meles Zenawi’s lap dog and a pathological anti- Ethiopianism, Bereket Simon, have caused a massive controversy by openly denouncing Africa’s biggest post colonial ethnic cleansing campaign of 1998, committed by himself and the dead tyrant.

The massive campaign of forcibly removing Ethio-Eritreans, including women and children was started in 1998 immediately after Eritrean war planes raided Mekele, the capital of Tigray republic, killing several students at Aider primary school.

The incident later grow into full blown boarder war where more than 70,000 souls perished in a battle resembled the bloody trench warfare of the first world war; just for control of a tiny dust bowl known as Badime.

Appearing as guest speaker on Eritrean oppositions Arabic paltalk  chat room on line ,on Saturday, the controversial Eritrean born warlord, Bereket Simon, accused top Tigray born warlords Seye Abraha and the illiterate Gebru Asrat of spear heading the yet to be investigated ethnic cleansing campaign.

“If we don’t like the color of their eyes, we have the right to chase them away”, was Meles Zenawis’ response to the concern of human right organizations during the mass deportation.

“We were wrong to chase away Eritreans” Bereket admits, for the first time contradicting the dead despot “It should not have happened and it will never happen.”

Bereket, the man who single handedly picked the current PM of Ethiopia; Hailemariam Desalegn to succeed his late boss also spoke on the issue of Badime.

“Badime is not our land. It belongs to Eritrea and we don’t have a problem of handing it over to Eritrea. The problem we have is how to go about it” Bereket said, in the process showing contempt to pro Badime Tigre warlords such as Abbay Woldu, General Samora Yenus, Seyoum Mesfin and Berhane Gebrekirstos, who still sees Badime as an integral part of the future Tigray republic.

It is not clear what gave Bereket the Dutch courage to openly defy the feared group of Tigray nationalists with more than one million foot soldiers under their command.

በፊት በሰፊው ይባሉ ከነበሩት ‹‹ድምፃችን ይሰማ! ኮሚቴው ይፈታ! የታሰሩት ይፈቱ! እና ምርጫችን በመስጂዳችን!›› ከሚሉ የድምፅ መፈክሮች በተጨማሪ በርካታ አዳዲስ መፈክሮችን ህዝቡ አሰምቷል፡፡ ‹‹የህገ መንግስቱ አንቀፅ 27 ይተግበር! መብታችን ይከበር! ጭቆናው በቃን! ማስገደድ በቃን!›› እና ሌሎችም በእለቱ ከተስተጋቡ መፈክሮች ጥቂቶቹ ናቸው፡፡ የመብት ጥያቄያችንን አስመልክተው የሚነዙ ፕሮፖጋንዳዎች ከመንግስት ሚዲያና የመሰብሰቢያ አዳራሽ ፍጆታነት ውጭ ከንቱ መሆናቸውን ዳግም በገሃድ ያሳየም ነበር፡፡በአዲስ አበባ በመቶ ሺዎች የደመቀው የተቃውሞ ትእይንት በከተማው በሁሉም አቅጣጫዎች በቢጫ ማእበል የተዋጠ ነበር፡፡ በስታዲየም ውስጥ፣ በአብዮት አደባባይ፣ በኢቲቪ ህንፃ፣ በፌደራል ፖሊስ ዋና መስሪያ ቤት ፊት ለፊት የተለየ ቁጣ አዘል ተቃውሞ ተስተጋብቷል፡፡ እስከአሁን ባሰባሰብነው መረጃ ከምስራቁ የሃገራችን ክፍል በሃረር ኢማም አህመድ ስታዲየም፣ ከዛም አልፎ እስከ ጀጎል የሞላው ህዝብ ደማቅ ተቃውሞ ያሰማ ሲሆን ‹‹ክርስቲያኖች ወንድሞቻቸን ናቸው›› ሲሉም ሃገራዊ ፍቅራቸውን ገልፀዋል፡፡

በአዳማ የመብት ጥሰቱ ድንበር ማለፉን በከባድ ተቃውሞ የገለፁ ሲሆን ከጅምሩ እስከ ማብቂያው ሙሉ ከተማው በቢጫ የደመቀ ህገወጥ ምርጫንና የመሪዎቻችንን መታሰር ያወገዘ የድምፃችን ይሰማ ተቃውሞ ተካሂዷል፡፡ በድሬዳዋ እና በአፋር ሚሌም የታሰሩትን አላህ እንዲያስፈታቸው በኢድ አደባባይ ዱዓ ተደርጓል፡፡ በሰሜኑ የሃገራችን ክፍል በደሴ ‹‹በአህባሽ ኢማም አንሰግድም›› በሚል ህዝቡ በራሱ ኢማም በመስገድ ታሪካዊውን ቢጫ ተቃውሞ በተለመደው ጀግንነቱ አስተጋብቷል፡፡ በከሚሴም ከእስከዛሬዉ ለየት ባለ ሁኔታ ወደ 80 ሺ የሚጠጋ ህዝብ በአአካባቢው ከሚገኙ 7 ቀበሌዎች እና ከከሚሴ ከተማም ጭምር በመውጣት ትላልቅ ባነሮችና መፈክሮች በመያዝ በቢጫ የታጀበ ከፍተኛ የተቃዉሞ ድምፅ አሰምተዋል፡፡ በባቲ፣ በመርሳ፣ በወልዲያ እና ሌሎች ከተሞችም ሃገራዊ ተቃውሞው የሁሉም መሆኑን በድምቀት አውጀዋል፡፡ በሰንበቴም ከ5 ሺህ በላይ ህዝብ በኢድ ሰላት ላይ ደመቀ ተቃውሞ አሰምቷል፡፡ በሌላ በኩል በትግራይ አንዳንድ ከተሞች ህዝበ ሙስሊሙ እቤት በመቅረት መቃወሙን ምንጮቻችን ዘግበዋል፡፡ በምእራቡ የሃገራችን ክፍልም በጅማ ከሰላት በፊት የተጀመረው ከባድ ቁጣና ተቃውሞ ህዝቡ በሚሰማቸው ዳዒዎች መስመር እንዲይዝ የተደረገ ሲሆን ህዝቡም ለሚያምነው የተገራ፣ በመብቱም የማይደራደር መሆኑን አሳይቷል፡፡ በበደሌም ከፍተኛ ተቃውሞ ተካሂዷል፡፡ በኢሊባቡር ከመቱ 42 ኪ.ሜ ርቃ በምትገኘው አልጌሳቻ ወረዳ ሙሉ የከተማውና የገጠሩ ማህበረሰብ እጅ ለእጅ በመያያዝ ምርጫው እንደማይወክላቸው በመግለፅ ‹‹ድምፃችን ይሰማ!›› በሚል ተቃውመዋል፡፡ በደቡብ የሃገራችን ክፍል ከዚህ በፊት በጉራጌና ስልጤ ዞኖች፣ እንዲሁም በዲላ የተካሄዱት አይነት መሰል ተቃውሞ እንደሚካሄድ የሚጠበቅ ሲሆን ምንጮቻችን እንዳደረሱን እንዘግባለን፡፡ ወራቤ ላይ የመንግስት ተወካዮች ንግግር ለማድረግ በሞከሩበት ሰአት በተቃውሞ ሲያስቆሙት በወሊሶ እቤት በመቅረት ተቃውሞአቸውን ገልፀዋል፡፡ ከጁምኣ ሰላት በኋላ ግን በመስጊዶቻቸው እጅግ በርካታ ህዝብ በተገኘበት ተደርጓል፡፡ በሻሸመኔም ህዝቡ ከፍተኛ የሆነ ተቃውሞ አሰምቷል፡፡ እስከአሁን ባለው መረጃ ብቻ በመላ ሃገሪቱ በአራቱም አቅጣጫዎች ህዝብ ‹‹መብቴ ይከበርልኝ! ወኪሎቼ ይፈቱ!›› በማለት የአላማ ፅናቱን ያሳየ ሲሆን ለህገወጥ ምርጫና ለህገወጥ ተመራጭ ምንም እውቅና እንደማይሰጥ በማያዳግም ሁኔታ አቋሙን ገልጧል፡፡

በአጠቃላይ የሃገሪቱ ጠቅላይ ሚኒስትር በፓርላማ ለመላው ሙስሊሞች ‹‹ምርጫውን በፈለጋችሁት መሰረት በሰላም በማከናወናችሁ እንኳን ደስ አላችሁ!›› ሲሉ ከጥቂቶች በስተቀር ብዙሃኑ መደሰቱን በገለጹበት ማግስት መላው የሃገራችን ሙስሊም ‹‹ምርጫው አይወክለኝም!›› በሚል መቃወሙ መንግስት እየተከተለው ያለው አካሄድ ከህዝብ ልቦና የሚያርቀው መሆኑን አመላካች ነው፡፡ ‹‹ኮሚቴዎቻችን ይፈቱ!›› ሲል በፊርማው የወከላቸው መሪዎቹ ለእስር ተዳርገው የሚያስቆም ህሊና እንደሌለው መላው ሙሰሊም ህዝብ ተአምር በሚያስብል ፅናት እየገለጸ መሪዎቻችንን ከህዝቡ በመነጠል የተለየ አጀንዳ ያነገቡ ለማስመሰል የሚደረገው ሩጫ ውሃ የማይቋጥርና የማይሳካ መሆኑን መስማት ለሚችል ሁሉ አስተጋብቷል፡፡ ህዝብ መብቱን ለማስከበር ሊከተል የሚገባውን ትልቁን ሰላማዊ አካሄድ እያደረገ ባለበት ሁኔታ መንግስት ሊወጣ የሚገባውን ሃላፊነት መዘንጋት እንደሃገር የመልካም ነገር መገለጫ አይደለም፡፡

በመጨረሻም የኢትዮጵያ ሬዲዮና ቴሌቪዥን ድርጅት ወትሮ የሚያቀርበውን የቀጥታ ስርጭት ማቅረብ ባይሳካለት አንኳ እስከ 8 ሰአት ድረስ ዜና መዘገብ አለመቻሉ የመንግስትን የአፈና አካሄድ ህዝባዊ ድጋፍ እንዳለው አድርጎ የማቅረቢያ ጠባብ አማራጭ እንኳን ማጣቱን ያመላክታል፡፡ በዚህም ህዝባዊ ተቃውሞው የመላው ሙስሊም ኢትዮጵያዊ መሆኑን መንግስትም ሆነ ኢቲቪ በተዘዋዋሪ መንገድ ምስክርነታቸውን ሰጥተዋል፡፡ ቅጥፈት የማይሰለቸው ኢቲቪ ግን በ 8 ሰአት የዜና እወጃው ይህን በሚሊዮኖች የሚቆጠር መብት ጠያቂና ሌሎች ሚሊዮኖች ታዛቢዎችን ‹‹አይናችሁ በትክክል አላየም›› ለማለት በሚመስል ሁኔታ ‹‹አንዳንድ ግለሰቦች በሽብር ወንጀል ተጠርጥረው ጉዳያቸው በፍርድ ቤት እየታየ የሚገኙ ግለሰቦች ይለቀቁ ሲሉ ጠይቀዋል›› ሲል ውሸት እንዲሰለቸን ባደረገው መስኮቱ ብቅ ብሎ የተለመደ ተግባሩን ፈፅሟል፡፡

ምንም አንኳን ህዝበ ሙስሊሙ የመበት ትግሉ እልህ አስጨራሽ ሊሆን እንደሚችል በማመን በሰላማዊነቱ መፅናትን ቢመርጥም ዛሬም የተለያዩ ትንኮሳዎች ሊፈፅሙበት ተሞክረዋል፡፡ በተለይ በአዳማ መደበኛው የዒድ ተቃውሞ ከተጠናቀቀ በኋላ ሆን ተብሎ በተፈጠረ ትንኮሳ ግርግር በመከሰቱ በርካታ ሰዎች መታሰራቸውና መደብደባቸውን ለማወቅ ችለናል፡፡ በተለይም የፌዴራል ፖሊስ በአዳማ ዩኒቨርሲቲ ተማሪዎች ላይ ከፍተኛ ድብደባና እስር ያካሄዱ ሲሆን ህዝቡ ግን መሰል ስቃይ ከመብት ትግል ሂደቱ እንደማይገታው በተግባር አሳይቷል፡፡ በአዲስ አበባ ሰላትን አስቀድሞ በመስገድ፣ የድምፅ ማጉያውን በስታዲየም ውስጥና በተወሰነ መልኩ በሴቶች አካባቢ እንዲሰማ ብቻ በማድረግ፣ ፖሊሶች በመገናኛ ሬዲዮ ‹‹ሃይል ይጨመርልን›› በሚል ህዝብ ውስጥ ፍርሃትን ለመልቀቅ በመሞከር የህዝቡን የጋራ ተቃውሞ አንድነትና ውበት ለማሳጣት ቢሞክሩም ደማቁን ተቃውሞ ግን ለደማቅ ታሪክነት ከመብቃት አላገዱትም፡፡

በመጨረሻም ለዲን ባለው ንፁህ ተቆርቋሪነትና ለወከላቸው ንፁህ መሪዎቹ ያለውን አጋርነት ለህይወቱ እንኳን ሳይሳሳ በፅናት እየገለፀ ያለው መላው ህዝባችን ዛሬም ሆነ መቼ ወደር ለማይገኝለት ድንቅ ታሪኩ አላህ ምንዳውን እንዲከፍለው እንለምናለን፡፡ በሰላማዊ ትግል መንገድ ላይ አቀበት መብዛቱን ተረድቶ እየተበደለም በሰላም በመፅናት በተለይም በዛሬው ውሎ በወጣው መርሃግብር ተቃውሞውን በማሰማትና ከፀጥታ ሃይሎች ጋርም ለሰላም በመተባበር ላሳየው አገራዊ ሃላፊነት ምስጋና ሊቸረው ይገባል፡፡ የመንግስት አካላትም መብትን መጠየቅ የዴሞክራሲ አንዱ መገለጫ ነውና በዛሬ ውሎ ያሳያችሁን አንፃራዊ በጎ የሃላፊነት ስሜት እሰየው የሚያስብል ሲሆን የተጠየቀን ጥያቄ መመለስም ሃላፊነታችሁ መሆኑን ልናስታውስ እንወዳለን፡፡ ድምፃችን ይሰማ ገጽ የዒዱን ተቃውሞ የቀጥታ ዘገባ (Live blog) መስራቷ ለህዝበ ሙስሊሙ ትክክለኛውን መረጃና ከአሚሮቻችን የሚሰጥን አቅጣጫ ለማስተላለፍ ያላትን ቃል ዳግም ያረጋገጠችበት ሆኖም ቀኑ አልፏል፡፡ ዛሬም በህዝቡ መሰል ቁርጠኝነት እና ፅኑ አቋም የትግል ጉዟችንን ዳር እናደርሳለን፡፡

Zenawi’s 40 years of homework for TPLF

I chose to start writing this peace with this quotation by Thomas Jefferson: “Eternal Vigilance is the Price of Liberty”. I chose it because liberty cannot be guaranteed to the vast majority of humankind as long as merciless dictators with lust for power exist on our planet. I submit that the struggle to defeat tyranny must be continuous.

Thomas Jefferson was: one of the Founding Fathers of the USA; the principal author of the Declaration of Independence;

 and the 3^rdPresident of the United States. Benjamin Franklin was also one of the Founding Fathers of the United States; the famous quote: “Rebellion to Tyrants is Obedience to God” was in 1976 suggested by him to appear on the reverse side of the Great Seal of the USA so that it would echo the Declaration of Independence. I ask the present US leaders whether they still uphold the ideals of the Founding Fathers enshrined in the Constitution of the United States of America

So my fellow Ethiopians, liberty comes and then kept at a hefty price paid for incessantly, more so now that the new ‘do-as-told’ Prime Minister of Ethiopia, inter alia: (1) has clearly, arrogantly and defiantly declared repeatedly that the policy of his notorious predecessor shall continue intact; (2) has ignored earnest calls for the release of all political prisoners and relax the political space; is denying the constitutional right of freedom of expression.  Does he, as a professed Christian, understand the grief, despair and agony that this beautiful Ethiopian young lady in picture had suffered under the tyrannical rule of his predecessor?

There is no doubt that he obeyed the orders of Bereket Simeon and other atheists in the TPLF to dictatorship to authorize the Federal Police to carry out the outrageous killing of innocent Muslims in Wollo appealing for the respect of their constitutional rights. This act of savagery signals dark days of tyranny ahead in the process of implementing Zenawi’s 40 years of homework for TPLF of which the President of Tigray Abay Woldu spoke (vide the paragraph under the caption below). Are the Ethiopian people and opposition democratic forces going to tolerate tyranny for that long? Are we going to let the TPLF nurture and grow the seed of intra-ethnic and inter-ethnic hatred sown by the late tyrant? I think not at all and predict the end of the EPRDF is in sight.

Abay Woldu’s homework

The President of Tigray Abay Woldu in his speech after becoming also the Chairman of the TPLF Stalinist party replacing the dead boss of its founder said in his speech to the people of Tigray that their ‘Great Leader’ has given them forty (40) years of homework. It was clear from his speech that Abay meant holistic implementation of the ideology, policy, strategy and plans authored, approved and put in place by Zenawi. He seems to be under the illusion that Tigray as the epicenter of communist power is by right of legacy the custodian of that ideology.

Axum is the citadel of the Ethiopian Judo-Christian civilization and later joined by Islam thus making our country a unique land of harmonious abode of the Judaic, Christian and Islamic faiths for centuries. It is a bizarre twist of history that radical communists sprung from Tigray with the vicious intent to upset and ruin the enviable harmonious relationship bound by the belief in one creator of the universe in order to substitute it with atheist  Marxist- Leninist- Stalinist-Maoist ideology. This is one of the legacies left behind by the late Zenawi buried at the holy grounds of the St. Trinity Cathedral – a decision in and of itself a hot controversial issue awaiting resolution.

Cry for leaders in the 21^st century

In one of my articles I recall writing that “A leader is one with a vision of where people want to go but they won’t do it alone without the leader”. It is widely agreed that people in this age of information in the 21^st century are equipped with the knowledge of identifying able leaders and exercising their rights to elect them to positions of power whether in government or private enterprises.

The people as: the only single source of political power have the right to hold those elected to public scrutiny and strict accountability; the only source of political power have the right to identify and vote for democratically-minded leaders with vision and proven ability in a free and fair election.

Unfortunately dictatorship will continue to be an impediment in post Zenawi Ethiopia where the literacy rate is 28% ranking the country as 182^nd out of 184 nations. Incidentally the rate was 60% literacy during the Derg era for which the regime received international accolade.

The TPLF power behind the new Prime Minister (PM) has successfully converted him into a clone of his former boss in that not only did the new PM underline that there shall be no change in policy but also tried to act as an incarnate of his master. This is a shameful but nevertheless a clever devious drama that only a devil can conceive, refine and implement.  The PM and the driving force behind him are under the illusion that the legacy of their boss including ideology, policy, strategy and plans will continue undiminished and that the masses have the sole duty to listen to the massive state propaganda and obey the diktat of the party.

ለካስ ኢህአዴግ ፈሪ ናት!

ሽመክት ውድነህ፤ የኢትዮጵያ ብሄራዊ ቡድን ቴኳንዶ ክለብ ምክትል አሰልጣኝ ነበር። በቴኳንዶ “ሶስተኛ ዳን” በሚባል ደረጃ ኢንተርናሽናል ቀበቶ አግኝቷል። በፈረንጆቹ አቆጣጠር 2009 ዴንማርክ የቴኳንዶ ስፖርት ክለቡን ይዞ ሄዶ ተስፋ ሰጪ የሚባል ውጤት ይዞ ተመለሶ ነበር። (ይቺ ተስፋ ሰጪ… ከስፖርት ጋዜጠኞቻችን ኮርጄ ነው። ብቻ ከተስፋ አስቆራጭ ተቃራኒ የሆነ ውጤት ማለት ናት!)

በአዲስ አበባ ከተማ ወደ አስራ አምስት ሺህ የሚጠጉ ወጣት ልጆችን በቴኳንዶ ማሰልጠኑን አውግቶኛል። ሽመክት ከአምና በፊት የነበረው አምና (ካቻምና ማለት ነው)  ግንቦት ሃያ ሊቃረብ አካባቢ ግን አንድ ፈታኝ ነገር ገጠመው።

በግል ክለቡ ቴኳንዶ የሚያሰለጥናቸውን ተማሪዎች ጠርጣራው መንግስት “ግማሹን በኦነግነት ግማሹን በግንቦት ሰባትንነት እጠረጥራቸዋለሁ” አለው። በዚህም የተነሳ የደህንነት ሰዎች ነን የሚሉ ሰዎች “የምታሰለጥናቸው ለግንቦት 20 ላሰባችሁት አመፅ እና ብጥብጥ ነው” ብለው ስለጥናውን እንዲያቆም አስጠነቀቁት።

ከማስጠንቀቂያው ብዙም ሳይቆይ የቀበሌው ሊቀመንበር አምስት ኪሎ አካባቢ የነበረውን ማሰልጠኛው ሊዘጉበት መጡ። አሻፈረኝ ብሎ ሲሟገት ስምንት የሚሆኑ ፌደራል ፖሊሶች ስድስት ኪሎ አምበሳ ግቢ አጠገብ በሚገኘው የፌደራል ፖሊስ ካምፕ ውስጥ አስገብተው ክፉኛ ደበደቡት። በዚህም የተነሳ ሁለት ወር ያህል አልጋ ይዞ ተኝቶ ነበር።

ያ ሰሞን ኢህአዴግ “ጭንቅ ጥብብ” የሚለውን ዘፈን ድምፁን ከፍ አድርጎ ይዘፍን የነበረበት ሰሞን እንደነበረ እኔም አስታውሳለሁ። “የድል ቀን” በሚል የፌስ ቡክ ግሩፕ አማካይነት “በቃ” የሚል  እንቅስቃሴ በሰፊው ታዋቂነት አግኝቶ ነበር።

ይህ እንቅስቃሴ፤ “ኢህአዴግ ግንቦት ሃያ በዓልን ሲያከብር አብዮት አደባባይ አብረን እንውጣ እና ለእስካሁኑ “ቴንኪው!” ከአሁን በኋላ ግን “ቻው” ብለን እናሰናብተው” በሚል፤ በአማርኛ፣ በኦሮምኛ፣ በወላይትኛ፣ በአፋርኛ፣ በትግርኛ ብቻ በሁሉም ቋንቋ  “በቃ” እያለ በርከቶችን ሲያስተባብር ነበር! ጊዜውም የአረቡ አገር አብዮት በየቦታው ይቀጣጠል የነበረበት ግዜ ነው።

ይሄኔ “ባለ ራዕዩ” ራዕይ ታያቸው አንድ ብልሃትም  ወለዱ! እርሱም ግንቦት ሃያን የአባይ በዓል ማድረግ። እውነትም ግንቦት ሃያ የድል ቀንነቱ ቀርቶ የአበይ በዓል ሆነ። አባይ ይገደብ ይገደብ ከተባለ ያኔ ገና ወራት ብቻ ነበሩ የተቆጠሩት።  ታድያልዎ በዚህ ዝግጅት ላይ አንድም መስሪያ ቤት ሳይቀር ሰልፍ እንዲወጣ ተደርጎ ነበር። ሁለት ሰራተኞች ብቻ  የነበሩት የሰፈራችን ፀጉር አስተካካይ ቤት ራሱ ከመስሪያቤት ተቆጥሮ ሰራተኞቻችሁ በሰልፉ ላይ እንዲገኙ የማይገኙ ከሆነ የማይገኙበትን ምክንያት እንዲያሳውቁ የሚል ደብዳቤ ደርሷቸው ነበር። (እዝች ጋ ለጨዋታ ማጣፈጫ ታህል ትንሽ አጋንኛለሁ!)

የሆነው ሆኖ የዛን ግዜው ግንቦት ሃያ ኢህአዴግን ክፉኛ ሲያስጨንቀው ሰንብቶ በሰላም አለፈ። እንቅስቃሴው ከሁሉ በላይ ሟቹን ጠቅላይ ሚኒስትር እንቅልፍ ነስቷቸው እንደከረመ ወሮ አዜብን ሳንጠይቅ እንዲሁ መረዳት ችለን ነበር። “እንዴት?” ማለት ጥሩ ጥያቄ ነው…! ግንቦት ሃያው በአባይ ተሳቦ ድምቅ ብሎ በሰላም ተጠናቀቀ። በነጋታው አቶ መለስ ሆዬ የዝግጅቱ አስተባባሪ የነበሩ ወደ አስር ሺህ የሚጠጉ ወጣቶችን በሚሊኒየም አዳራሽ ራት ጋብዘው ነበር። (በቅንፍ እነዚህ አስር ሺህ ወጣቶች ባለፈው ጊዜ የጠቅላይ ሚኒስትሩ ቀብር አስፈፃሚነት ስራ ላይም ተመድበው ነበር። እነዚህ ወጣቶች ሲያረጁ ኢህአዴግ ምን ይውጠው ይሆን? ብሎ ማሽሟጠጥ ይቻላል) ታድያ ያኔ ሟቹ ባደረጉት ንግግር “አንዳንዶች የግንቦት ሃያን ክብረ በዓልን ወደ ብጥብጥ ሊቀይሩ ቆርጠው ተነስተው ነበር!” ብለው ቃል በቃል ሲናገሩ ሰምቻቸዋለሁ። ይሄንን ስሰማ “ቀላል” ተጨናንቀው አንዳልነበር ግንዛቤ አገኘሁ! አሁን አሁን ሳስበው ይሄ ይሄ ተጨማምሮ ነው ለዚህ ያበቃቸው!

በነገራችን ላይ ኢህአዴግዬ ድንጉጥ ነው። ኮሽታ ሁሉ የምታስደነግጠው ድርጭት። በዛን ሰሞን በርካቶች የ“በቃ” እንቅስቃሴ ደጋፊ ናችሁ ተብለው አበሳቸውን ያዩ ነበር። አንዱም እኔ ነበርኩ። የእኔን እናቆየው፤

የቴኳንዶ አሰልጣኙ ሽመክትም በማሰልጠኛ ክለቡ የሚሰለጥኑ ልጆች ለዚሁ አላማ ነው የምታሰለጥነው ተብሎ ብዙ ፍዳዎችን እንዳየ፣ በዛም የተነሳ የሚወደውን እና ብዙ ገቢ ያገኝበት የነበረውን ስራውን ትቶ መሰደዱን ሲነግረኝ ደነቀኝ! ለካስ ኢህአዴግ ፈሪ ናት! ስል እንዳስብ አደረገኝ! በዛች የፌስ ቡክ ኮሽታ ስንቱን አመሰችው!?

በመጨረሻም

በዚሁ በ ”በቃ” ሰበብ እነ ውብሸት ታዬ ርዮት አለሙ አቶ ዘሪሁን እና ሂሩት ክፍሌ ታስረው ፍርድ ቤት ሲመላለሱ በነበረ ጊዜ የተሰጠ የምስክርነት ቃል እስከመቼም አይረሳኝም…! እስካሁን ለምን እንዳላወራዎት እግዜር ይወቀው! ቆይ፤ ተየብ፣ ተየብ አድርጌው አስነብብዎት የለ! ተገርመውም አያባሩ!

እስከዛም አማን ያድርገን!

ኢህአዴግ አቅም እንደሌለው ግለሰብ እዚህም እዛም ደጋፊ ሁኑኝ እያለ ሰዎችን እያስቸገረ ነው አሉ!

ባለፈው ጊዜ አንዷ የመንግስት መስሪያ ቤት ሰራተኛ አለቃዋ መጥሪያ አንቃጭለው ጠሯት። እርሷም፤ “አቤት ጌታዬ ምን ልታዘዝ” ብላ ሄደች! ጌታዋ ግን “ኢህአዴግ ጌታ ነው! አሜን በይ!” አሏት። ነገሩ እንዲገጣጠምልኝ ብዬ እንጂ አባል መሆን እንዳለባት ሰበኳት ለማለት ፈልጌ ነው። “ገብቶኛል ባክህ…” ካሉኝ “ድሮም የገባዎት እኮ ኖት” ብዬ አቆላምጪዎ እቀጥላለሁ።

ልጅት ግን ነገሩ የሚያመጣው ጦስ ጥንቡሳት አልገባትም ነበርና “እምቢኝ” አለች። “ውድ አለቃዬ ይቅርታ ያድረጉልኝና ስብሰባ ምናምን ደስ ስለማይለኝ የኢህአዴግ አባል ለመሆን ፍላጎት የለኝም።” ብላ ለአለቃ በሚገባ ትህትና ነገረቻቸው። እሳቸውም “ይቻላል ጥርግ በይ!” ብለው አሰናበቷት።

ቀጥላ ጓደኛዋ ተጠራች። ጓደኛዋ ከመግባቷ በፊት በጆሮዋ ለምን እንደተፈለገች አንሾካሾከችላት… እርሷም “አረ ባክሽ…!  ደ…ፋር! በያቸው!” ብላ ገባች። ተመሳሳይ ጥያቄ ቀረበላት ከጓደኛዋ ጋር ሆና “ደ….ፋር” ያለችውን ባትደግመውም ደፍራ ግን “እኔ እንዲህ አይነት ነገር አይመቸኝም ይቅርታ” አለቻቸው እና ወጣች። አለቅየው ተበሳጩ! “ተደፍረናል ተዋርደናል ብታምኑም ባታምኑም በቁም ሞተናል!” ሳይሉም አይቀሩም!

እነዚህ ሁለት ኮረዳዎች አባልነትን እምቢኝ ብለው በመስሪያ ቤታቸው ውስጥ አንገታቸውን አቀርቅረው ስራ ስራቸውን መስራት ቀጠሉ! ሰላማቸው ግን አልቀጠለም። በየሰበባ ሰበቡ ቅጣት በየሰበባ ሰበቡ እርከን ክልከላ ተከታተለባቸው።

ይህ በእንዲህ እንዳለ እኒያኛው ጠቅላይ ሚኒስትር ሞቱ! በስንተኛው ቀን “ሁሉም ሰራተኛ ጥቁር ለብሶ ይምጣ ለቅሶ እንደርሳለን” ብለው ቆፍጣናው አለቃ አዘዙ!

ታሪከኞቹ ሁለት ኮረዳዎች አንዷ ጥቁር ልብስ የለኝም ብላ፤ ሌላይቱ ደግሞ ከዚህ በፊት በደረሰብኝ የቤተሰብ ሀዘን በርካታ ጊዜ ጥቁር ለብሼ ስለነበር ከዚህ በኋላ ጥቁር እንዳትለብሺ ብለው ንስሐ አባቴ ገዝተውኛል። በሚል ጥቁር ሳይለብሱ ሄዱ! አሁንም አለቅዬ ተበሳጩ። (የእዚህ ልጆች ጥቁር አለመልበስ እርሳቸውን ስለሚያስጠቁራቸው ባይበሳጩ ነው የሚገርመው ብለው ማሰብ ይችላሉ!)

ይኸው ከዛች ቀን በኋላ እኒህ ሁለት የመንግስት ሰራተኞች ለመስሪያ ቤታቸው የእንጀራ ልጅ ሆነው እየኖሩ እንደሆነ አወጉኝ! አንዷማ በቅርቡ ለስንት አመት ቀጥ ለጥ ብላ የሰራችበትን የስራ መደብ፤ “አንዲት በአብዮታዊ ዲሞክራሲ የምትምል አዲስ ምልምል እንዳለማምዳት ተነገረኝ በስንተኛውም ጊዜ ላለማመድኳት ልጅ ረዳት ሁኚ ተባልኩ” ብላ ነገረችኝ!

ቀጣየቷ ልጅ ደግሞ በእስር ላይ ከሚገኙ ጋዜጠኞች የአንዳቸው ቤተሰብ ናት። የዝች ደግሞ አስገራሚ ነው። እርሷን እስካሁን ደረስ ማንም መጥቶ የተናገራትም የሰባካትም ያስቦካትም የለም። (ያስቦካት ማለት፤ “አስቦካሁ…!” እንዲል የአራዳ ልጅ ያስፈራራት ማለት ነው!)

ነገር ግን እስካሁን ድረስ ሶስት የግል መስሪያ ቤቶች ከቀጠሯት በኋላ ይቅርታ እየጠየቁ ከስራዋ አሰናብተዋታል። ለምን? ስላት፤ “ከመንግስት የተላኩ የደህንነት ሰዎች “ለመሆኑ አቅቀሃት ነው የቀጠርካት!? ለማንኛውም አስብበት ለራስህ ብለን ነው ልጅቷ የእንትና ዘመድ ናት ከእነ እንትና ጋር ግንኙነት አላት ስለዚህ አስብበት”” ብለው ለአስሪዎቿ “ሀርድ” ይሰጣቸዋል። እነርሱም በነጋታው “ይቅርታ ሌላ ስራ ፈልጊ!” ብለው ሲያሰናብቷት አሁን በቅርቡ ሶስተኛ መስሪያ ቤቷን ለቀቀች።

መንግስት በዝች ልጅ ላይ ያሰበው ነገር ምን እንደሆነ እንጃ…! ከጓደኞቿ ጋር ውላ ልክ ስትለያይ አብሯት የዋለው ገደኛዋ ከመንገድ ላይ ይጠራና “ከዝች ልጅ ጋር ያለህ ግንኙነት ምንድነው!? ለመሆኑ ማንነቷን ታውቃለህ…? እኛ ምን ቸገረን ለአንተው ብለን ነው ጥንቃቄ እንድታደርግ ለመምከር ነው!” ብለው የደህነንት መታወቂያ ካርድ አሳይተው ይሰናበቱታል።

ቢቸግረኝ ጠየኳት “አልገባኝም መንግስት የሚፈልግሽ ለፍቅር ነው እንዴ!?” አልኳት። እርሷ ሳቀች። እኔ ግን ግራ ገባኝ!

Award-Winning journalist, Reeyot Alemu’s statement from Kaliti prison

EMF – Reeyot Alemu is awarded today the “2012 Courage in Journalism” Prize by International Women’s Media Foundation. Elias Wondimu of Tsehai Publishers accepted the award on behalf of Reeyot Alemu.

Journalist Reeyot Alemu has been jailed at kality prison for more than a year, branded as a terrorist. Her commitment to work as independent journalist while the prospect was increasingly dangerous. Her refusal to self-censor and her unwillingness to the usual apologies in exchange for her freedom, makes her exceptional.

First, I want to express my great thanks for the officials and staff of the IWMF for giving reward to my efforts and courage.The following is her speech which has been read during the award ceremony. Elias Wondimu accepted her award in her behalf.

I also wish to express my deep appreciation to my fiancé Sileshi Hagos, family and friends for their strong support and encouragement throughout my endeavor.

Next, I would like to say something about my country’s current political condition and the reason why I am arrested.

When I became politically aware, I understood that being a supporter or member of a ruling party is a prerequisite to live safely and to get a job. If someone tries to be out of this circle, he or she will be punished. I am one of them who tries to object EPRDF because of its bad doings.

Shooting the people who march through the streets demanding freedom and democracy, jailing the opposition party leaders and journalists because of only they have different looking from the ruling party, preventing freedom of speech, association and the press, corruption and domination of one tribe are some of the bad doings of our government.

As a journalist who feels responsibility to change these bad facts, I was preparing articles that oppose the injustices I explained before.

When I did it, I know that I would pay the price for my courage and I was ready to accept that price. Because journalism is a profession that I am willing to devote myself.

I know for EPRDF, journalists must be only propaganda machines for the ruing party. But for me, journalists are the voices of the voiceless.

That’s why I wrote many articles which reveal the truth of the oppressed ones.

Even if I am facing a lot of problems because of it, I always stand firmly for my principle and profession.

Lastly, I want to ask the international community to understand about the real Ethiopia. The real Ethiopia isn’t like that you watch in Ethiopia television or as you listen to the government officials talk about it.

በአባቶች መሀከል የሚካሄደው እርቅ በቀጣዩ ወር ይቀጥላል ተባለ

ኢሳት ዜና:-በአዲስ አበባ የተጀመረው የቀዱስ ሲኖዶስ ስብሰባ ባጸደቃቸው አጀንዳዎች ላይ ውይይቱን ቅጥሏል።የእርቁ ሂደት በቀጣዩ ወር እንዲቀጥለም ወስኗል።ሰኞ ዕለት የተጀመረው የኢትዮጲያ ኦርቶዶክስ ተዋሀዶ ቤተክርስቲያን ቅዱስ ሲኖዶስ ስብሰባ ከቀረጻቸው አጀንዳዎች የፓትሪያሊክ መርጫ ህግ ማውጣት አንዱ መሆኑ ተመልክቷል፤ደጀሰላም እንደዘገበው ከፍተኛ የገንዘብ ብክለት የተመዘገበባቸው የአዲስ አበባ ሃገረ ስብከት ሰራ አስኪያጅ ንብረእድ ኤልያስ አብርሃ ከሃላፊነታቸው የመነሳታቸው ጉዳይ እያበቃለት መምጣቱን አመልክቷል። ቅዱስ ሲኖዶሱም የ አዲስ አበባ ሐገረ ሰብከት በአናት እንዲከፈል መወሰኑንም ይፋ አደርጓል።የፊታችን ህዳር በዩናይተድ እስቴት አሜሪካ በሚካሄደው የእርቅ ድርድር ላይ የሚሳተፉ ልኡካንንም ቅዱስ ሲኖዶሱ መሰየሙንም ደጀሰላም ዘግቦል። ብጹእ አቡነ ቀውስጦስ፣ ብጹእ አቡነ አትናትዎስ፣ እና ብጹእ አቡነ ገሪማ ለእርቁ ሂደት የተወከሉ ሲሆን ንቡረእድ ኢሊያስ አብርሀ በጸሀፊነት ከለኡካን ቡድኑ ጋር እንዲጎዙ መወሰኑንም በዘገባው ተመልክቶል።አዲስ አበባ በሲኖዶሱ ስብሰባ ላይ የሚገኙት አባታቶች በእርቀ ሰላሙ ጉዳይ ተመሳሳይ አቆም መያዛቸው ተሰምቶል። ሆኖም አቡነ ምውርቆሪዎስ በፓትሪያርክነት መንበራቸው እንዲመለሱ የሚጠይቁ በአንድ ወገን ሲኖሩ በሌላ ወገን የፓትሪያርክ አቡነ መቆሪዎስ ስም በቅዳሴ እየተጠራ ወደሀገራቸው ተመልሰው በፈቀዱት ስፍራ እንዲቀመጡ ሆኖም የቀጣዩ ፓትርያርክ ምርጫ እንዲካሄድ የሚል አቆም መንጸባረቁም ተመልክቶል።

ወርሃ ኦክቶበር (ጥቅምት)በአለም የጡት ካንሰር ማሳሰቢያና ማስገንዘቢያ ወቅት ነው፡፡ ወሩን በሙሉ በዓለም ላይ ሕዝባዊና የግል ድርጅቶች የፕሮግራሞቻቸውና የእንቅስቃሴዎቻቸው ትኩረት ሁሉ  በጡት ካንሰር መንስኤ ላይ በማትኮር፤ አደጋውን ለመቀነስ፤ ቅድመ ጥንቃቄ ስለማድረግ፤ ህክምናና ምርምር በማከናወን ላይ ይገኛሉ፡፡ በእርግጠኝነት በተረጋገጠው መሰረት በአብላጫ በዓለም ላይ ሴቶችን በማጥቃት ላይ ያለው የጡት ካንሰር ነው፡፡ በሚሊዮን የሚቆጠሩ ሴቶች በበሽታው በየዓመቱ ሲለከፉ ከነዚህም መሃል በሢ የሚቆጠሩት ለሞት ይዳረጋሉ፡፡ኮመን ፎር ዘ ኪዩር የተባለው የአሜሪካ ድርጅት እንደአስቀመጠው በአሜሪካን የሚገኙ አብላጫዎቹ አፍሮ አሜሪካውያን መሃል ሁለተኛው ገዳይ በሽታ የጡት ካንሰር እንደሆነ ያረጋግጣል፡፡ በአፍሪካ ስለዚህ ገዳይ በሽታ የታማሚ መጠንና ስለሚያደርሰውም አደጋ አያም ስለሚሰጠው ትኩረትና ህክምና በትክክል እንዲህ ነው ለማለት ዘገባም ሆነ መግለጫ ስለሌለ ብዙ ማለት ያስቸግራል፡፡ በአፍሪካ የበሽታው ሁኔታ ሊታወቅ የሚችለው ታማሚው በበሽታው ተይዞ ለህክምና ወይም ለመመርመር ወደ ጤና ጣቢያ አለያም ህክምና ማእከል ሲሄድ ብቻ ነው፡፡ አብላጫው የሴቶች ቁጥር በሚኖርበት የገጠሩ ክፍል ስለበሽታው ሁኔታ መዝግቦ መያዝና ማስረጃዎችን ማሰባሰቡ በብዙም የተለመደ ወይም ሁኔታ የተፈጠረለትም አይደለም፡፡ ስለበሽታው  ሁኔታ ክትትልና ዘገባም ሆነ ስለበሽተኞቹ ሁኔታ ጥናት ማካሄድን ከምር ይዘው በማስኬድ ላይ የሚገኙት ጥቂት የአፍሪካ ሃገራት ናቸው፡፡

የጡት ካንሰርና የሕክምና አገልግሎት በኢትዮጵያ

በኢትዮጵያ የጤና ባለስላጣናት በሚያወጡት ሪፖርት ላይ የጡት ካንሰር ቅድሚያ የሚሰጠው በሽታ ሆኖ አይታይም፡፡ በሃገሪቱ ካለው የጤና ላዕላይ መዋቅር ደካማና ያልተመጣጠነ መሆን፤ የጤና ማእከል እጥረት፤ለጤና ካለው ደካማ ትኩረት አኳያ፤ ይህ አዲስ ነገር ሆኖ ባይታይም ይቅር የሚባል ጉዳይ ግን ጨርሶ ሊሆን አይችልም፡ ፡ በኢትዮጵያ ጤና አጠባበቅ ላይ የሚታየው ስታትስቲክስ የጨለመና ልብ የሚሰብር ጉዳይ ነው፡፡

እንደ 2006ቱ የዓለም ጤና ድርጅት(WHO) ዘገባ መሰረት፤ የኢትዮጵያ ሕዝብ ቁጥር 77 ሚሊዮን ተብሎ ተገምቷል፡፡ ይህን ታላቅ የሕዝብ መጠን የህክምና አገልግሎት ለመስጠትም 1,936 ሃኪሞች አሉ (1 ዶክተር ለ 39,772 ሰዎች)፥ 93 የጥርስ ሀኪሞች (1 ለ 828,000 ሰዎች)፥  15,544 ነርሶችና የልምድ አዋላጆች (1 ለ 4,985 ሰዎች)፥ 1,343 ፋርማሲስቶች (1 ለ 57,334 ሰዎች)፥ እና 18,652 የጤና ባለሙያዎች (1 ለ 4,128 ሰዎች) አሉ::  የሃገር ውስጥ ጠቀሜታ በመቶ ሲሰላ ለጤና ይሚወጣው 5.9 በመቶ ነው፡፡ አጠቃላይ የመንግስት የገንዘብ ፍሰት ድርሻን በጤና ላይ በተመለከተም 58.4 በመቶ ሲሆን ተራፊውን 41.6ቱን የሚሸፍኑት የግል ባለሃብቶችና  ድርጂቶች ናቸው፡፡ የህክምና መኝታ አልጋዎች መጠን ለ10,000 ሰዎች ከ25 አላጋ ያነሰ ነው፡፡ የሕክምና የመንግስት ወጭ በግለ ሰብ ሲተመን ከ3 የአሜሪካ ብርን አያልፍም፡፡የዓለም የጤና ድርጅት አነስተኛው መጠን ለ 100,000 ሰዎች 25 ዶክተሮች ያስፈለጋሉ ይላል፡፡ በማርች 2007 ዓም፤ ሙት ወቃሽ አያድርገንና፤ ያለፉት ጠቅላይ ሚኒስትር መለስ ዜናዊ ስለ ሃኪሞች ሲናገሩ እንዳሉት፤ ‹‹በኢትዮጵያ ዶክተሮች አያስፈልጉንም……. ሃኪሞቹ ወደያሻቸው ቦታ ሊሄዱ ይችላሉ፡፡ በፍጹም የተለያ አመለካከት ሊደርግላቸው አይችልም›› በማለታቸው በኮንፍራንሱ ላይ የነበሩትን ሁሉ ያስደነገጠና ያሳዘነ አባባል ነበር፡፡ እንደ ፎሪን ፖሊሲ መጽሔት አባባል፤ ‹‹በአፍሪካ ሁለተኛዋ ታላቅ የሕዝብ ቁጥር ባላት ኢትዮጵያ (80 ሚሊዮን) ካሉት ሃኪሞች የበለጠ ቁጥር በቺካጎ የሚሰሩት የኢትዮጵያውያን ዶክተሮች ቁጥር የበለጠ ነው፡፡”

በ ኦክቶበር 2010 በአምስት ተከታታይ ጽሁፍ ‹‹የኢትዮጵያ እናቶች›› በሚለው ዘጋቢ የጋዜጣ ጽሁፏ ሃና ኢንግበር ዊን ዝቅተኛ ደረጃ ላይ ስላለው የአፍሪካን የውልደትና የጤና አሳሳቢና አስደንጋጭ ጉዳይ ስዕላዊ ድርሰቷን አቅርባ ነበር፡፡ ‹‹በኢትዮጵያ የወላጆችን የጤና ሁኔታና የወሊድ ስርአትን በተመለከተ ተሃድሶ የሚያስፈለግው ጉዳይ ነው›› ብላ ዊን ጽፋ ነበር፡፡ ከስድስት በመቶ የሚያንሱት ኢትዮጵያዊያት እናቶች በወሊዳቸው ወቅት የህክምና እርዳታ እንደሚያገኙ የ2005ቱ የጤና ጥናት ያሳያል፡፡ በወሊድ የሚሞቱት ቁጥር በዓለም እጅጉን አስከፊ የሆነ ነው፡፡ በጥናቱ መሰረት ከ 100,000 ወላዶች መሃል 673 እናቶች በወሊድ ሰበብ ለሞት ይዳረጋሉ፡፡››

በዚህ አስደንጋጭ ዘገባና የጡት ካንሰርን ሁኔታ ማስጠንቀቂያና ማሳሰቢያ  የግልም ሆነ መንግስታዊ ተቋም በሌለበት፤ ይህ የጡት ካንሰር በኢትዮጵያ ምን ደረጃ ላይ እንዳለ፤ መወሰድ ስለሚገባው ጥንቃቄ፤ ሰለአጠቃላይ ሁኔታው እንዲህ ነው ብሎ ማስቀመጡ አስቸጋሪ ነው፡፡ ዘመን አመጣሹን ቅድመ ምርመራ ለማድረግ የሚያስችለው “ማሞግራም” የተባለው መሳርያ በአብዛኛዎቹ ኢትዮጵያውያን ሴቶች ጨርሶ አይታወቅም በእርግጠኛነትም ልመርመር ለምትል እናትም ዋጋው የሚደፈር አይደለም፡፡ በሽታው ስር ሰዶ የከፋ ደረጃ በሚደርስበትም ጊዜ ቢሆን ኢትዮጵያዊያን እናቶች አማራጭና አቅማቸው የሚፈቅድላቸው የባሕል መድሃኒትና የመሳሰሉትን ነው፡፡ ኪሞና ራዲዩቴራፒ ከጥቂት የተረፋቸውና ያላቸው ወደ ውጪ ሄደው ለመታከም ከታደሉት ባሻገር ለብዙሃኑ ኢትዮጵያዊያት እናቶች በሃሳብ ደረጃ እንኳ የማይታወቅ ነው፡፡

ስለካንሰር ኤች አይ ቪ /ኤይድስ የሚስጥራዊነትና የዝምታ ባሕል

ስለአንዳንድ በሽታዎች ሚስጥር ማድረግና ዝምታን መምረጥ በኢትዮጵያም ሆነ በዲያስፖራው የሚገኙ እትዮጵያዊያን መሃል እጅጉን የሚያስገርምና የሚያሳዝን ባሕል አለን፡፡ ሁለቱ የማይደፈሩትና በድብቅ የሚያዙት በሽታዎች ደግሞ ኤድስና ካነሰር ናቸው:: የዚህም ዝምታና ሚስጥራዊነቱ ህጉ እስከ እለተ ሞት ድረስና ከዚያም በኋላ ሚስጥረነቱን ማክበር ነው፡፡ ይህንንም አሳዛኝና አሳፋሪ የሚስጥራዊነት ባህል በቅርቡ ለህልፈት በተዳረጉት በመለስ ዜናዊ ሁኔታ አይተነዋል፡፡ የመለስ ሕመምና የሞቱ መንስኤ ምንነትና ሰበቡ ከፍተኛ ጥብቅ ሃገራዊ ሚስጥር ሆኖ ይኖራል፡፡ በስፋት እንደሚነገረውና እንደሚታመነውም የመለስ ሞት ሰበቡ የአንጎል ካንሰር ነው፡፡ የኒው ዮርክ ታይምስ የውጪ ዲፕሎማቶችን ጠቅሶ እንደዘገበው ‹‹መለስ በጉበት ካንሰር ይሰቃይ ነበር፡፡›› ጋዜጠኞችን ለመጠበቅ የተሰለፈው ድርጅት  (ዘ ኮሚቴ ቱ ፕሮቴክት ጆርናሊስት) እንደዘገበው መለስ በብራስልስ ሆስፒታል በጉበት ነቀርሳ ሳቢያ ሞቷል ብልዎል፡፡ በአጠቃላይ ካንሰር በተለይም የጡት ካንሰር በብዙ ኢትዮጵያዊያን በተማሩትም መሃልና ውጪውን ዓለምም ባዩት መሃልም ቢሆን የማይነገር የማይነሳ የሚደበቅ ሚስጥር ነው፡፡

ይህ የሚስጥራዊነትና የዝምታ ባህል ለብዙ ሺህ ኢትዮጵያውያን ሞት ምክንያት ሆኗል፡፡ ለምሳሌ በርካታ ኢትዮጵያዊያን ሴቶች በዲያስፖራው ለሞት የተዳረጉበት መነሾ አስቀድመው ስለበሽታው ምርመራን ባለማደረጋቸውና የፍርሃታቸውም ምክንያት የምርመራው ውጤት የበሽታው ተጠቂነታችንን ያሳውቀናል በሚል መሆኑ ይታወቃል፡፡ በበሽታው የተያዙት እነዚህ ሴቶች ጉዳዩን ከዘመድም ከወዳጅም ደብቀው በማቆየት እስከመጨረሻው ድረስ ሳያወጡት ኖረው በሽታው ስር ከሰደደና ሕክምናም ምንም ሊያደረግ ወደማይችልበት ደረጃ እስኪደርስ በሚስጥር ይይዙትና መደምደሚያው የሞት መቅሰፍትን መጠበቅ ይሆናል፡፡

የግልጽነትን ባሕል በማዳበር የጡት ካንሰርንም ሆነ ሌሎችን በሽታዎች በነጻ መወያየት

ለብዙ ዓመታት ስለ ጡት ካንሰር ምንም ግንዛቤ አልነበረኝም፡፡ ስለቅድመ ምርመራው በቂ እውቀት ሳይኖረኝ በሬን እስኪያንኳኳ ቆይቼ ነበር፡፡ቆይቼ ግን ብዙ ተማርኩ፡፡ አወቅሁ፡፡ ያም የሚከተለው ነው፡-

…….አስቀድሞ ከተደረሰበትና አስፈላጊው ቅድመ ምርመራ ከተደረገ፤ ዘመን በፈጠራቸው የሕክምና መሳርያዎች እርዳታ የጡት ካንሰር ሊታከም የሚችል በሽታ ነው፡፡ የጡት ካንሰር እንዳለባት ለአንዲት ሴት መንገር ማለት የሌት ተቀን ቅዠቷን ማስታጠቅ ማለት ነው፡፡ ሴቶች ሁኔታውን ሲሰሙ ወዲያው ወደ መደናገጥና ፍርሃት ውስጥ ይገባሉ፡፡ በአሜሪካ የሚኖሩ በርካታ ኢትዮጵያዊያን ሴቶች ወቅታዊውን የሚሞግራፍ ምርመራቸውን ቸል ብለው ይተዉታል፡፡ ለአንዳንዶቹ እንደ ሰበብ የመመርመሪያውን ሂሳብ የመክፈል አቅም ማጣት አድርገው ይሸሹታል፡፡ ኢንሹራንስ ከሌለ በስተቀር በአሜሪካ ሕክምናን ማድረግ እጅጉን አስቸጋሪ ጉዳይ ነው፡፡ ሆኖም ለምርመራውም ሆነ ለህክምናው አቅሙና መንገዱ ያላቸውም ቢሆኑ አያደርጉትም፡፡ ለዚህ አደገኛ በሽታም አቅም እያለ ክትትልና ህክምና  አለማድረግ ሰበብ አለው፡፡ ከሰበቦቹ ዋነኛ ተብሎ ሊጠቀስ የሚችለውም፤ ስለ ጡት ካንሰር ጉዳት በቂ ግንዛቤ አለመኖር ነው፡፡ አንዳንዶች ደግሞ ጨርሶ ስለዚህ ጉዳይ ማንሳትም ሆነ መወያየት አይፈቅዱም፡፡ በጠና ካልታመሙ በስተቀር ወደሃኪም አይሄዱም፡፡በዚህም እራሳቸውን ለማዳን መንገድ አይኖራቸውም፡፡

ይድረስ ለእስልምናና ክርስትና ሃይማኖት ተከታዮች

ከሁሉ በፊት የእስልምና እምነት ተከታዮች እንኳን ለ2005 የአረፋ በዓል በሰላም አደረሳችሁ፤

ኢሣት ኢትዮጵያ ውስጥ በመዘጋቱ ምክንያት ስንት ነገር አምልጦኛል ለካንስ እባካችሁ? ይህችነን ማስታወሻ ለመጻፍ አስቤ ብዕሬን ከወረቀት ላዋድድ ስል ከዜናና ከዜና ትንታኔው በኋላ ትቼው የተለየሁትን ይህን የኢትዮጵያ የወቅቱ ብቸኛ መተንፈሻ የቴሌቪዥን ጣቢያ ተመልሼ እንድከታተል ባለቤቴ ስትጠራኝ “ተይኝ ባክሽ ሌላ ሥራ አለብኝ” ብላት ስሜቴን ስለምታውቅ “ታማኝ መጣልህ!” አለችኝና የመከታተል ወይ ያለመከታተል ምርጫውን ለኔው ትታ ወደሥራዋ ገባች፡፡ በዚህ ረገድ በደንብ ታውቀኛለችና እንድመለስ ሌላ ቃል አልጨመረችም፡፡ በዚህች አባባል ሌሎች በመንፈስ እንጂ በሥጋ እንዳትቀኑ አደራችሁን – “ወላድ በድባብ ትሂድ! የታማኝ እናት ደጋግመሽ ውለጂ! ቢስ አይይብን፡፡ የልጅ ዐዋቂ ነህና ከዐይን ይጠብቅህ፡፡” አሜን በል ወንድማለም፡፡ ከአሜን ይቀራል አሉ፡፡

ታማኝ – ወይ ጉድ ስም ይቀድሞ ለነገር አሉ – በኦነግና በግንቦት ሰባት ጥምረት በተደረገ ስብሰባ ተገኝቶ ያደረገውን ንግግርና ስብከተ ሀገር ነበር ኢሣቶች እያቀረቡ የነበረው – የቆዬ ዝግጅት ነው፡፡ ነገር ግን በኢትዮጵያ የምንኖር ዘጎች ከተናጋሪ እንስሳነት እምብዝም የማንለይ – ኧረ እንዲያውም እነሱ ከእኛ የሚሻሉበት ብዙ ነገር አላቸው – በመሆናችን ሁሉም የዜና ማዕከላት ተጠርቅመው የወያኔን ቅርሻት ብቻ እንድንሰማና እንድናይ ስለተፈረደብን በወቅቱ አላየሁትም፡፡ አሁን ግን ዕድሜ ለዲያስፖራው የኢትዮጵያ ሕዝብ – በኢሣት ጥረት የተደበቁ ዜናዎችንና መረጃዎችን መከታተል ጀምረናል፡፡ ይህ የዜና ተቋም ተጠናክሮ እንዲቀጥል ሁለንተናዊ አቅም ያላችሁ ዜጎች እባካችሁን አንድነታችሁንና ኃይላችሁን አስተባብራችሁ ታገሉ፤ ሁሉም ያልፋል፡፡ የማያልፈው ግን አጥርን ዘልሎ የሚሻገር የመልካም ወይም የክፉ ሥራ ውጤት ነው፡፡ የዚህ የተገፋ ሕዝብ የየጨለመ የመኖር ተስፋ ብታለመልሙ ፈጣሪ ወሮታውን ይከፍላችኋል፡፡ የአንድ ሺህ ኪሎ ሜትር ጉዞ የሚጀመረው በአንድ ሜትር ነውና አንዳንድ ጨለምተኞች “ወሬ ምን ዋጋ አለው! በወሬ ሆድ አይሞላም…” ቢሉም ብዙም ጆሮ አንስጣቸው፡፡ መጽሐፉ “እስመበተስፋሁ ሀደረት ሥጋየ” ይላልና የነጻነታችን ፋናወጊ የመረጃ ምንጭ የሆነውን ኢሣትን በየአቅማችን እንርዳ – እርግጥ ነው ድረ ገፆቻችንንም ሳንዘነጋ፡፡ ምርጫም የለንም፡፡ ምርጫ ከተባለም ያለን ሌላውና ብቸኛው ምርጫ በቦሌም በባሌም ብለን ባከማቸነው ገንዘብ የተንደላቀቀ ኑሮ እየመራን እንደከብት እያመነዠክን እንደዓሣም ያገኘነውን መጠጥ እየማግን መኖር ነው፡፡ ይህ ደግሞ እንስሳነት ነው፡፡ ይህ ከጤናማ ሰውነት የወረደ ወያኔያዊ ባሕርይ ለታሪክ ፍርድ አመቻችቶ ይተወናል፤ ለኋላ ፀፀትም ይዳርገናል – ‹ኋላ› ለሚባል ነገር ለምንደርስ፡፡ አንዳንዴ ‹ፊተኛ›ን ብቻ ለሚያውቅ ግብዝ ፍጡር ‹ኋለኛ› የሚባል ነገር ስለመኖሩም አይገባውም፤ ሁለቱንም ኑባሬያት በነቢባዊና ተግባራዊ አንድምታቸው የሚያውቅ ሰው የተረጋጋና ለየትኛውም መቼት የሚያበቃ ሕይወትን መርቶ በፊተኛውም በኋለኛውም የመኖርና ያለመኖር የሕይወት ቅምብቦች ውስጥ ዘወትር እየተወደሰና በሠናይ ምግባሩ እንደ አብነት እየተወሳ ዘመድ አዝማድንና ሀገርን አኩርቶ እስመለዓለመ ዓለም ይኖራል፡፡ (ታማኝ በርቺ – ጀምረሻል – እንዳትንሸራተች የኢትዮጵያን አምላክ ጠበቅ አድርገሽ ያዢ!! በተንሸራታች ፋብሪካ ሀገር ጥንቃቄና ምርመራ ውስጠት ዘወትር ካልታከለ ችግር ማስከተሉ አይቀርምና ራስን በየወቅቱ መፈተሽ፣ ራስን ብቻ ሳይሆን ግራ ቀኝን – ባላንጣን ጭምር ማዳመጥ ይገባል፤ ትምክህትን በፈጣሪና በምስኪን ሕዝብ ያደረገ ወድቆ አይወድቅም፡፡ ብዙዎች የአሁን ኢትዮጵያውን ደግሞ እጅግ በጣም አስቸጋሪ ፍጡራን መሆናችንን ለማወቅ ይህች ጦማር በአንዱ ድረገጽ እስክትለጠፍ መጠበቅ አስፈላጊ አይመስለኝም፡፡ መንጌ ምን አለ? ‹ሀገሬን ለሰው አልሰጥም አለ› ብለህ እንዳትቀልድብኝ፤ ከርሱ ቀጥሎ ያለው ቁም ነገር አለ … ወርቅ ቢያነጥፉለት … ችግሩ እነሱ እንደሚሉን እየሆንላቸው የተግባራቸው ብቻም ሳይሆን ለትንቢቶቻቸውና ለዕብሪት ንግግሮቻቸው እውናዊነትና ተፈጻሚነት  አጋር መሆናችን ነው፡፡ ለሁሉም ግን ተስፋ መቁረጥን ራሱን ተስፋ እናስቆርጠውና ለእውነት ልዕልና ቆርጠን እንነሳ … የቀረበው የነጻነት ቀን ልደት በምንም መንገድ አይጨነግፍም የሚል ጽኑ እምነት አለኝ… ግን ጽንሱ ከታሪክ ማኅጸን በቅጡ እንዲወጣ ልምድና ዕውቀት ያላቸውን አዋላጆች ከዬአህጉሩ እየፈለግን በማሰባሰብ እንደስካሁኑ መደዴና ስድ አደግ ሁሉ እጁን ሳይታጠብና በቂ ችሎታ ሳይኖረው ማዋለጃ ክፍል ውስጥ እየገባ ችግር ከመፍጠሩ በፊት እውነተኞቹ ባለሙያዎች ዕድል እንዲያገኙ እናድርግ፡፡…)

Ethiopia to play Zambia, Nigeria, Bukina Faso

Ethiopia is to play Zambia , Nigeria and  Bukina Faso, in 2013 Cup of Nations to be held in South Africa.

Group A: South Africa, Angola, Morocco, Cape Verde

Group B: Ghana, Mali, Niger, DR Congo

Group C: Zambia, Nigeria, Burkina Faso, Ethiopia

Group D: Ivory Coast, Tunisia, Algeria, Togo

Tournament kicks off on January 19 with two Group A fixtures and finishes on Feb 10 with the final In a draw held in Durban, Wednesday, Nigeria made Group C with the three other countries.

Ethiopia overcame Sudan in qualifying after losing 5-3 in Khartoum and won 2-0 in Addis Ababa, in the first leg.

Nigeria has twice won the Nations Cup- 1980 and 1994.

Zambia’s solitary success in the competition came in 2012 when they beat the Ivory Coast on penalties in Libreville.

Ethiopia were African champions in 1962 while Burkina Faso have never won the competition.

The Burkinabes had their best outing in 1998 when as hosts, they finished in 4th place.

TPLF’s Terror Will Not Deter Genuine Demand For Freedom

The TPLF – EPRDF government has stayed and continues to stay on the shoulders of Ethiopia peoples at gun point. Extra-judicial killings, mass arrest and torture have been the hall-mark of the TPLF government in Ethiopia.

The Ethiopian Muslims for the last 11 months have been demanding to exercise their freedom of religion without the interference of the government. This demand is a simple fundamental rights even guaranteed in the fake TPLF constitution. Under the TPLF hegemony, constitution is not the supreme law of the land where the fundamental rights of citizens are guaranteed. But it has been a fake instrument TPLF used for its diabolic actions. If freedom of religion mentioned in the TPLF constitution at least has any meaning at all , the Ethiopian Muslim would have not suffered for simply asking to exercise their freedom guaranteed in the constitution… freely exercising their religion without the interference of third party including the government. If TPLF were government by the people for the people, innocent Ethiopian Muslims in Asaasaa, Arsii, now in Gerba , Wollo, would have not been killed . What TPLF and its agents failed to understand is that killing innocent people who peacefully demonstrated to exercise their God given rights and guaranteed in the constitution will not ever deter determined people to demand their freedom including the freedom to freely exercise their religion without the interference of the government. The TPLF ‘s panic move to control every aspect of people’s life including their religion is nothing but the grave the TPLF regime is digging to be buried in that all Ethiopia peoples should stand with Ethiopian Muslims in their demand for legitimate question to expercise their freedom of religion. This is a basic fundamental human right that evey human being should support and stand with .

The october 21, 2012, killing in Gerba, and different districts in Wollo, is another egregious criminal act by TPLF Regime. The current, symbolic Prime Minster is nothing but a tutelage assigned to carry out TPLF’s fascistic deeds that he will be responsible for the death of innocent Muslims in Gerba, wollo ,and elsewhere.

The Oromo Liberation front strongly condemns this criminal act and call upon all Ethiopia irrespective of regions and religious to stand with Ethiopian Muslims’ genuine demand to exercise their religion and elect their leaders without theTPLF government interference.

We also call upon the international community to condemn this heinous crime and take necessary action to prevent further bloodshed of innocent Ethiopia Muslims.

The Oromo Liberation Front also believes that to get out of this tyranny, all Ethiopian people should stand together in demanding their freedom, justice and democracy for all.

Your Excellency may be aware that the BBC reported on August 11, 2012, a ceremony was held in the presence of a Vatican representative in which a memorial was opened and draped in the Italian flag to “honor” the convicted war criminal Field Marshal Rodolfo Graziani, one of the most heinous and despicable figures of the Second World War.

During the Italian war on Ethiopia 1936-1941, the Italian fascists carried out a systematic mass extermination campaign in Ethiopia with poison gas sprayed from airplanes and other horrific atrocities that claimed the lives of no less than 1,000,000 Ethiopian men, women and children, including 30,000 massacred in only three days in Addis Ababa as well as the reprisal killings of the entire monastic community at the historic Debre Libanos Monastery. In addition, 2,000 churches and 525,000 homes were destroyed by the Italian Fascists. These atrocities were carried out under the direct command of Graziani known as the Butcher of Addis Ababa.

Unfortunately, it is also a historic fact that representatives of the Catholic Church supported, participated in and even encouraged these brazen acts of genocide against Orthodox Christian Ethiopians who were some how viewed under the dogma of the time as less civilized and not deserving of respect as fellow Christians. The widely disseminated report that a representative of the Vatican was present at the inauguration of Graziani memorial is particularly disturbing to us.

We are therefore requesting the following:

1. Condemnation of the Graziani memorial;
2. An expression of regret by an office of the Vatican for the actions of the fascist colonizers (1935-1941) and those priests who supported the atrocities.
3. A joint effort must be made to identify, account for, and restore relics, manuscripts, and books of our Holy Church including those that were deposited with the Vatican Library for safekeeping.

South Sudan plans Ewthio-Erirean mediation

ADDIS ABABA (Reuters) – Newly independent South Sudan plans to help resolve the long-running border dispute between Ethiopia and Eritrea, a senior official said on Wednesday.South Sudan’s minister for cabinet affairs, Deng Alor, said Addis Ababa and Asmara had given the green light for mediation talks on the border, which could start as early as November.

“We have close ties with both countries so we are planning to mediate and solve the problems that they have between them,” Deng Alor, South Sudan’s minister for cabinet affairs, told Reuters.

Ethiopian and Eritrean officials were not available to comment. Ethiopia has said its conflict with Asmara over the demarcation of their shared border following a 1998-2000 war would be solved only through a negotiated settlement.

South Sudan is still embroiled in its own frontier argument with its northern neighbor, Sudan. The two countries broke apart last year under a 2005 peace deal that ended decades of civil war.

Alor said South Sudanese President Salva Kiir and other senior officials were set to name a delegation “very soon” that would travel to both capitals.

“We will embark on rounds of shuttle diplomacy between the two countries. We are hoping to start in November,” Alor said.

A Hague-based boundary commission awarded the flashpoint frontier village of Badme to Eritrea in 2002. But Ethiopia has yet to conform with the ruling, insisting on further negotiations on its implementation.Asmara wants Ethiopia to pull its troops out before normalizing relations.The two countries nearly returned to war in March when Addis Ababa launched cross-border attacks in Eritrea on what it said were rebel targets.Both countries routinely accuse each other of backing dissidents to destabilize and topple the other’s government. Ethiopian strongman Meles Zenawi died in August.

ኃይለማርያም ከመድረሱ፤ የንፁሃንን ሕይወት መቀንጠሱ!

ኃይለማርያም ደሣለኝ ምስለኔ ነው። ዋናው ባለሥልጣን ገና በውል አልታወቀም። ለሽያጭ ገበያ እንደወጣ ፈረስ ተስፈኛ ገዢዎች ኃይለማርያምን ለሙከራ እየጋለቡት ነው። በእርግጠኝነት የሚታወቀው ኃይለማርያም ደሣለኝ ምስለኔ እንጂ ዋናው ባለሥልጣን አለመሆኑ ብቻ ነው። እሱም ይህን ተቀብሎታል። የኃይለማርያም አዲስ ጌታ ነጥሮ ባለመውጣቱ ከቀድሞ ጌታው የተረከባቸውን ሹማምንት ይዞ ይቀጥል ወይም ጥቂት ለውጦችን ያድርግ ለጊዜው በውል የሚታወቅ ነገር የለም። ምን ያህል ሥልጣን በእጁ እንዳለም እንኳንስ ሌላው ሰው እሱም አያውቀውም። የመኖሪያ ቤትም ስላልተለቀቀለት ገና ወደ ቤተመንግሥት አልገባም።

እንዲህ ብዙ ነገሮች ገና ያልለየላቸው ቢሆንም ኃይለማርያም የቀድሞ ጌታው የመለስ ዚናዊን “ሌጋሲ” ለማስፈፀም ሲል ከአሁኑ ኢትዮጵያዊያንን መግደል ጀምሯል።

ለካስ ኢትዮጵያዊያንን በግፍ መጨፍጨፍ ነበር ኃይለማርያም ደሣለኝ ገና ከጠዋቱ ደጋግሞ “የኔ ሥራ የታላቁ መሪያችንን ሌጋሲ ማስቀጠል ነው” ሲል የነበረው!! እንዳለውም “የመሪውን ሊጋሲ” የሚያስቀጥል መሆኑን ከጅምሩ አሳየን።

የኃይለማርያም ደሣለኝ የምስለኔ አገዛዝ የመጀመሪያ ሰለባዎች ሙስሊም ምዕመናን ሆኑ። ቀኑም እሁድ ጥቅምት 11 ቀን 2005 ዓ.ም. ነበር። በደቡብ ወሎ በምትገኘው ገርባ ከተማ የሚገኙ ሙስሊም ምዕመናን በሣምንታት በፊት በተካሄደው የውሸት ምርጫ ባለመሳተፋቸው ሰበብ ተፈልጎ የጥይት ዝናብ ወረደባቸው። ምዕመናኑ በመስጊዳቸው ለመጠለል ሞከሩ፤ ግን አልቻሉም። የፓሊስ ልብስ የለበሱ የጦር ሠራዊት አባላት ምዕመናኑን በጭስ አፍነው በጥይት ቆሏቸው። እስካሁን ከአራት ያላነሱ ሰዎች ሕይወታቸውን ማጣታቸው ተረጋግጧል። የሟቾች ብዛት ከዚህም በላይ እንደሚሆን ይገመታል። ከአንድ መቶ በላይ የሚሆኑ ሰዎች ለአካል ጉዳት ተዳርገዋል። ጥቂቶቹ ደሴ ሆስፒታል ተወስደው የህክምና ርዳታ ያገኙ ቢሆኑም ብዙዎች ግን ይህንን እድል አላገኙም።

የኃይለማርያም የምስለኔ አገዛዝ አንድ ፓሊስ ተገድሎብኛል ቢልም እውነት ይሁን አይሁን እስካሁን ማረጋገጥ አልተቻለም። የቀድሞ ጌታው መለስ ዜናዊ ሰው በገደለ ቁጥር “ፓሊስ ተገድሎብኛል” ይል እንደነበረው ኃይለማርያምም ተመሳሳይ ውሸት መፈብረክ “የሌጋሲው” አካል አድርጎት ሊሆን ይችላል፤ ለጊዜው እርግጠኛው አልታወቀም።

በእርግጠኝነት የሚታወቀው ነገር በጥቅምት 11 ቀን 2005 ዓ.ም. በገርባ ከተማ ከአንድ መቶ በላይ በሆኑ ንጹሃን ዜጎች ላይ የሕይወት መጥፋት ወይም የአካል ጉዳት ያስከተለ ግፍ መፈጸሙ ነው።

ግንቦት 7: የፍትህ፣ የነፃነትና የዲሞክራሲ ንቅናቄ በወገኖቻችን ላይ በደረሰው ጭፍጨፋ የተሰማውን ጥልቅ ሃዘን ይገልፃል፤ ለሟቾቹ ገነትን ለቤተሰቦቻቸው ደግሞ መጽናናትን ይመኛል። ግንቦት 7 እነዚህ ውድ ኢትዮጵያዊያን ለመብቶቻቸው መከበር ሲሉ ከፍተኛውን የሕይወት መስዋትነት የከፈሉ ሰማዕታት አድርጎ ይመለከታል።

ኃይለማርያም ደሣለኝ፣ እውነተኛ ሥልጣን ኖረውም አልኖረው ለወያኔ በምስለኔነት ለመሥራት ፈቅዶና ወዶ ገብቶበታልና በወገኖቻችን ደም ቀጥታ ተጠያቂ ነው ብሎ ግንቦት 7 ያምናል። የይስሙላም ቢሆን ገና በሥልጣን ወንበር ላይ እንደተቀመጠ የንጹሃንን ደም ማፍሰሱ ኃይለማርያምን ልክ እንደ ቀድሞ ጌታው መለስ ዜናዊ ፀረ-ሕዝብና ፀረ-ኢትዮጵያ ያደርገዋል።

ግንቦት 7: የፍትህ፣ የነፃነትና የዲሞክራሲ ንቅናቄ፣ የወያኔ ዘረኛና አምባገነን ሥርዓት ለሰብዓዊ መብቶች ግድ ይኖረዋል ብለን አያምንም። ወያኔ ለሰብዓዊ መብቶች መከበር ግድ እንዲኖረው ሊቋቋመው በማይችለው ኃይል መገደድ ይኖርበታል አሊያም ጭራሹን ሊወገድ ይገባል።

ኢትዮጵያዊያን ሙስሊሞች እስካሁን በሰላማዊ መንገድ ወያኔ ለማስገንዘብና ለማንቃት ያደረጉትን ተጋድሎ ግንቦት 7 ያደንቃል። ከእንግዲህ ግን የማስገደዱ አለያም የማስወገዱን ሥራ በተቀናጀ መንገድ ካልሰራነው በስተቀር የሕዝባችን መገደል፣ መደብደብና መረገጥን ማስቆም አንችልም። ስለሆነም ግንቦት 7፣ መላው የኢትዮጵያ ሕዝብ – ሙስሊሙም ክርስቲያኑም – ለሰብዓዊ መብቶታችን መከበር በጋራ እንዲነሳ ጥሪ ያደርጋል።

በዚህ አጋጣሚም ክርስቲያኑ የኢትዮጵያ ሕዝብ የሙስሊም ወንድሞቹና እህቶቹን ጥረት በጥርጣሬ መመልከቱን ትቶ ለጋራ ድል በጋራ እንዲነሳ ግንቦት 7 ጥሪ ያደርጋል።

Ethiopia Muslim Election Turns Deadly

ADDIS ABABA – In a new bout of violence over government interference in Muslim religious affairs, at least four people

 were killed when protestors attacked a police station in eastern Ethiopia.

“One police officer was killed while two police officers sustained injuries, and three members of the [protester's] group were killed during the violence,” government spokesperson Shimeles Kemal told Agence France-Presse (AFP) on Tuesday, October 23.

The violence occurred after protestors attacked a police station in the town of Gerba in the Amhara region on Sunday after the arrest of a protestor who tried to disrupt the postponed election of the Supreme Council of Islamic Affairs in the town.

“His supporters, armed with machetes and handguns, tried to have him released by force,” Kemal told Reuters.

“In the ensuing conflict, three members of the extremist group who tried violently to break in the prison were shot dead by police officers.”

Activists have posted pictures online of dead bodies and men with gaping wounds sustained during the incident.

Police arrested several people following the violence.

Election for choosing SCIA members was held across the country two weeks ago, but Ethiopian Muslims had called for boycotting the vote.

Muslims have held weekly demonstrations and sit-ins over the past year in protest at government interference in the SCIA election.

In May, four Muslims were killed in protests against government interference in their religious affairs.

In July, 17 Muslim leaders were jailed following protests in the Ethiopian capital. Nine are still in detention without charges.

Muslims say the government is spearheading a campaign in collaboration with the Supreme Council to indoctrinate their community with the ideology of a sect called “Ahbash”.

The government of former Ethiopian Premier Meles Zenawi has put the Ahbash in charge of the religious affairs of Ethiopia’s Muslims.

Muslims say the government move is in violation of the constitution, which prevents the government interference in religious affairs.

Muslims also accuse the Ahbash of launching an “indoctrination program” in predominantly Muslim areas, forcing people to attend “religious training” camps or risk police interrogation and possible arrest.

Founded by Ethiopian-Lebanese scholar Sheikh Abdullah al-Harari, Ahbash is seen by the West as a “friendly alternative” to Wahabi ideology, which the West sees as extreme and militant.

Muslims say Ahbash imams are being brought over from Lebanon to fill the Majlis and teach Ethiopians that “Wahabis” are non-Muslims.

Ethiopia, Africa’s second most populous country, is home to 60 percent Christian and about 34 percent Muslim, according to CIA Factbook.
